Registered Sleep Technician (RPSGT / RRT)
Location:
Redlands, CA and Upland, CA (In Person)
Schedule:
Full-time, Part-time, or Per Diem |
Night Shift:
7:30 PM - 5:30
AM Pay Range:
$28.00 - $40.00 per hour (Commensurate with experience and credentials) Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our clinical team. In this role, you will independently perform high-quality overnight sleep studies, manage patient care, and play a vital role in diagnosing and treating complex sleep disorders. The ideal candidate holds active credentials, possesses strong clinical judgment, and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities Testing & Titration:
Perform comprehensive overnight sleep studies (PSG, Split-Night, CPAP/BiPAP/ASV Titration) and monitor patients to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes and airway stability.
Patient Care & Education:
Fit patients with appropriate PAP masks, troubleshoot therapy setup, and provide thorough education regarding the testing process and treatment compliance.
Data Evaluation:
Collect, evaluate, and accurately document respiratory and sleep data in strict accordance with American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain precise clinical documentation, adhering strictly to patient safety, privacy (HIPAA), and infection control standards.
Equipment & Quality Control:
Clean, sterilize, calibrate, and prepare sophisticated sleep study equipment for nightly use, ensuring all signals are clean and artifact-free.
Requirements & Qualifications Credentials:
Active RPSGT credential from the BRPT or RRT/CRT with a sleep specialty.
Licensure:
Must hold an active registration/licensure with the Medical Board of California (or Respiratory Care Board of California) to practice polysomnography.
Certifications:
Current BLS/CPR certification required.
Experience:
Experience with advanced titration (BiPAP, ASV) and proficiency with standard sleep diagnostic software preferred.
Skills:
Strong clinical communication, a comforting bedside manner, and excellent troubleshooting abilities.
Physical Demands & Working Environment Shift Work:
Ability to work overnight shifts consistently (7:30 PM - 5:30 AM).
Mobility:
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching during patient hookups and equipment setup.
Screen Time:
Ability to remain alert and monitor computer screens attentively for extended periods throughout the night.
Lifting:
Ability to lift/move equipment up to 25 lbs and occasionally assist mobility-impaired patients in and out of bed safely. Key changes made for the RPSGT level:
Removed Trainee Language:
Stripped out all references to clinical hours and recent graduates.
Elevated Responsibilities:
Added ASV Titration and "artifact-free" signaling, which are expectations for a registered tech rather than a beginner.
California Specifics:
Added the requirement for registration with the Medical Board of California, which keeps your lab compliant with state law.

$28.00 - $40.00 per hour
