This position will support STEAM labs and makerspaces across elementary, middle and high-school campuses. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with robotics, coding platforms, 3D printers, laser cutters, electronics, fabrication tools and other educational technologies. This is primarily a technical support, equipment maintenance and educator-training position, but it also involves interacting with students and supporting hands-on STEAM activities under the direction of district teachers and staff. This position and its anticipated start date are contingent upon contract award and final project authorization. Responsibilities Set up, organize, test and maintain STEAM lab equipment and makerspace resources Troubleshoot robotics systems, computers, software, 3D printers, laser cutters, electronics and instructional technology Diagnose equipment problems and recommend repairs, replacement parts or other corrective action Prepare STEAM labs and equipment for classroom activities Support teachers and students during hands-on STEAM activities Demonstrate the safe and effective use of STEAM tools and instructional equipment Train and assist teachers, administrators and school staff in using STEAM technologies Maintain equipment inventories, maintenance records, service logs and site-visit documentation Monitor labs for safety, organization and proper equipment operation Coordinate with school administrators, teachers, district personnel and the program manager Travel between multiple school campuses within the San Bernardino area Assist with equipment installation, technology upgrades, classroom reconfiguration and preventative maintenance Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Practical experience with STEAM, makerspaces, robotics, coding, engineering, electronics, fabrication or educational technology Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability and willingness to learn and support unfamiliar equipment and software Strong communication, organization and documentation skills Ability to work independently and interact professionally with students, teachers, administrators and district personnel Comfortable assisting students and educators during hands-on learning activities Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to travel between multiple school sites during the workday Ability to safely lift, move, transport and set up instructional equipment and materials Ability to pass required DOJ fingerprinting and background clearance Ability to obtain TB clearance and complete California mandated-reporter training before working on a school campus Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting a K-12 school, makerspace, robotics lab, fabrication lab or

program Hands-on experience with 3D printers, laser cutters, robotics systems, microcontrollers, electronics, circuitry or fabrication tools Familiarity with coding platforms and programming languages used in K-12 education Experience training teachers, instructors or other adult users Experience maintaining equipment inventories and technical service records Associate or bachelor's degree, technical certification or equivalent industry experience is helpful but not required Schedule and Work Location Approximately 40 hours per week Primarily weekday daytime hours based on school and district schedules Work may occasionally be required before or after the regular school year or during school recess periods On-site position serving multiple schools in the San Bernardino area Reliable daily transportation is required Compensation $27-$34 per hour, depending on relevant experience and technical qualifications.
