Comfortable working in cold storage, regulated environments What You'll Do Process Donor Human Milk Thaw, pool, bottle, pasteurize, and store donor milk according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Operate laboratory processing equipment, including pasteurizers and chilling systems. Label, track, and document every batch to ensure complete product traceability. Prepare milk for testing, storage, and distribution. Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and processing materials. Ensure Quality & Safety Follow all SOPs, sanitation, and food safety requirements. Monitor product quality throughout the processing workflow. Clean and sanitize laboratory equipment and workspaces. Report equipment issues, processing deviations, or safety concerns promptly. Help maintain a clean, organized, inspection-ready laboratory. Support Regulatory Compliance Maintain accurate production records and batch documentation. Comply with FDA, HMBANA, and applicable state regulations. Support quality assurance activities and regulatory inspections. What We're Looking For Required Commitment to the mission and values of Mothers' Milk Bank California. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Preferred Coursework in Biology, Microbiology, Health Sciences, or a related field. Experience in a laboratory, food production, manufacturing, or healthcare environment. Experience working with SOPs, quality systems, or regulated documentation. Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods during processing activities. Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Perform routine cleaning and sanitation tasks. Work in a laboratory environment requiring strict hygiene and safety practices. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Communication & Collaboration Collaborate with Milk Operations, Processing, and Quality teams to ensure safe, efficient, and coordinated operations. Communicate operational issues promptly to supervisors and work collaboratively across departments to support continuity of services.
