You will combine mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, control panel construction, and process system integration to build complex equipment from engineering drawings and P&IDs. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering and R D teams, contribute directly to new technology development, and help transition products from research and development into manufacturing. Responsibilities Assemble production equipment and experimental hardware used in R D and manufacturing operations. Build equipment directly from engineering drawings, mechanical schematics, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Perform mechanical assembly of industrial, manufacturing, laboratory, or production equipment using appropriate hand and measurement tools. Wire sensors, instruments, and small-gauge electrical components used in process systems. Assemble and troubleshoot electrical control panels that support production and testing systems. Interpret and implement P&IDs to construct complete process and instrumentation systems. Assemble hydraulic systems and stainless steel tubing using Swagelok fittings and connections. Troubleshoot equipment issues across mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulics, and process systems. Maintain accurate technical documentation, lab records, and build notes for equipment and systems. Collaborate closely with engineering and R D teams to support prototype builds and equipment modifications. Support the transition of equipment and processes from R D into manufacturing environments. Follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE while working in a chemical laboratory and manufacturing setting. Essential Skills Experience performing mechanical assembly of industrial, manufacturing, laboratory, or production equipment. Experience wiring instruments, sensors, or electrical components, including work assembling or troubleshooting control panels. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDs. Comfort working onsite in a chemical manufacturing and R D environment. Proficiency using hand tools, measurement tools, and assembly tools for mechanical and electrical work. Capability to troubleshoot electromechanical equipment issues in a production or R D context. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate technical documentation and lab records. Effective collaboration skills to work directly with engineering and R D teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Hydraulic system assembly experience. Experience working with stainless steel tubing. Hands-on experience with Swagelok fittings and connections. Small-gauge wiring experience in process or control systems. Experience supporting R D or prototype equipment builds. Background in chemical processing, energy, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing. Instrumentation or controls experience, including sensors and process instrumentation. Interest in working in a rapidly growing startup environment with broad technical exposure. Motivation to grow professionally with a company entering a new phase of expansion.
