The laboratory Technician Performs data entry and processing of biological indicator spore strip tests in a high-volume culture lab. Primarily serving the dental industry, B.I. spore strip tests are used in autoclave performance testing for sterility assurance. Sorts and labels test envelopes and performs data entry based on information provided in envelope Aseptically transfer spore strips into test tubes Operates fill machines and ensures proper media fill into tubes, including setup and breakdown Follows SOPs to ensure appropriate incubation protocol Removes samples from incubators and visually examines for bacterial growth Routine cleaning of laboratory glassware and equipment Daily monitoring of incubator temperatures Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to counting and opening test envelopes, cleaning work area, processing media, restocking supplies, participate in the onboarding and training/cross-training of lab technicians within your area(s) of capability, etc.
Preferred Experience:
experience in a laboratory operation or technical/scientific field, and basic computer competency Some knowledge of aseptic laboratory techniques, and microscope familiarity is preferred Requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, well-focused, sense of urgency, good work ethic, and ability to function as part of a team.
