Location:
Dale Mabry Campus Position Summary:
The lab associate will work with our senior staff and leadership to run tests, analyze results and report on data findings.
Job duties:
Prepare equipment and workspace. Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed. Assist in collecting data for accreditation. Prepare samples for testing using various types of laboratory equipment. Monitor laboratory testing with faculty, including immunohematology, chemistry, hematology, microbiology etc. Organize documentation, take notes, record data and results. Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records. Label specimens accurately and distribute them to the students. Order, Clean and maintain work area and all lab equipment and supplies. Organize and maintain lab storage, samples, and specimens. Follow all health and safety regulations when handling laboratory specimens. Conduct laboratory tests, analyze, and categorize results. Record and document analysis results; report results and variations to supervisor. Comply with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies. Sanitize and sterilize equipment and workspace. Research industry trends and advancement. Assists faculty with additional duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in medical technology. MLT or MLS certification. Reliable transportation to visit clinical site to pick up specimens.
