Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Wastewater Lab Analyst/Assistant to join our dynamic environmental testing team. In this vital role, you will perform comprehensive laboratory analyses of wastewater samples to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and support water quality management efforts. Your energetic approach will contribute to maintaining high standards of laboratory accuracy, safety, and efficiency. Responsibilities Collect, prepare, and analyze wastewater samples using advanced laboratory techniques and instrumentation. Conduct microbiological, chemical, and physical tests in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards such as GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice). Maintain precise laboratory records, documenting all procedures, observations, and results in compliance with laboratory information management systems (LIMS). Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety procedures, including chemical handling safety protocols and sterile techniques. Perform quality control checks on equipment, reagents, and test results to guarantee accuracy and reliability of data. Support research and development initiatives by assisting with method validation, data collection, and analysis in a research setting. Collaborate with team members to uphold laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with FDA regulations and environmental standards. Skills Strong understanding of laboratory techniques including microbiology, molecular biology, histology, cell culture, and analysis skills. Proficiency in using laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers, pH meters, microscopes, and other analytical tools. Experience with laboratory record keeping, data analysis, and laboratory research documentation. Knowledge of EPD regulations, and laboratory compliance standards. Familiarity with microbiology practices, sterile techniques, chemical handling safety procedures, and molecular biology techniques. Ability to operate laboratory information management systems (LIMS) efficiently. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and following precise protocols. Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes. Background in industrial or clinical laboratory environments with research or water quality testing experience preferred. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology is a plus for specialized testing scenarios.
