Job Description

Material Science Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations. This role will be responsible for conducting routine testing, preparing samples, maintaining equipment, and ensuring data integrity and safety compliance while supporting the lab's operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine laboratory testing and analyses according to established procedures and work instructions. Prepare raw materials, compounds, and samples for testing. Accurately record and report data in laboratory notebooks, electronic systems, and databases. Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory workspaces, ensuring equipment and instruments are in good working order. Dispose of chemical and material waste according to safety protocols. Follow all safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate PPE and maintaining a safe work environment. Communicate effectively with the Laboratory Manager and weekday team to ensure smooth transition and continuity of work. Assist in inventory management of lab supplies and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished. Support additional testing, trials, or project work as needed during weekends. Preparing samples on the injection molding machine and performing physical testing. Testing includes, color, Tensile, moisture, MFI, Izod, impact strength, ball drop, and etc.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, a bachelors or associate degree in chemistry, biology, polymer or material science will be a plus Basic understanding of laboratory safety protocols and chemical handling. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed for sample or material handling. Manual dexterity to operate laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
Work Schedule:
This position requires availability Monday-Friday from 7am to 3:30p with some flexibility depending on business needs.
