Sleep Technologist Southeast Lung Associates Savannah, GA Job Details Part-time | Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Sleep medicine BLS Certification RPSGT Patient interaction Medical terminology Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Sleep Technologist to join our dynamic sleep medicine team. This is a 10 hrs shift ( 8:00pm - 6:00am ) and there is a split in working labs ( 2 nights per week at our lab in Hilton Head & 2 nights per week in Rincon/Savannah depending on the schedule). In this vital role, you will be responsible for conducting sleep studies, monitoring polysomnography (PSG) testing, and ensuring accurate data collection to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-wake disorders. Your expertise will contribute to improving patient outcomes through precise testing, compassionate patient care, and effective use of advanced sleep technology. AStep & SomnoWare systems a plus. Responsibilities Prepare patients for sleep studies by explaining procedures, setting up equipment, and ensuring comfort. Operate polysomnography (PSG) monitoring equipment, including electroencephalography (EEG), respiratory devices such as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) machines, and other physiological sensors. Monitor patients throughout sleep studies, recording vital signs, respiratory effort, oxygen saturation, limb movements, and other relevant physiological data. Manually score sleep tests by analyzing recorded data to identify sleep stages, arousals, apneas, hypopneas, and other sleep-related events. Maintain accurate documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards and confidentiality protocols. Assist with diagnostic evaluations by performing physical examinations and assessing patient responses during sleep testing. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to interpret test results and support the development of treatment plans for sleep disorders. Skills Proficiency in operating polysomnography (PSG) equipment and medical devices such as CPAP/BiPAP machines. Board Certified Experience working with individuals diagnosed with or suspected of having sleep-wake disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea or insomnia. Ability to perform manual sleep test scoring with precision and attention to detail. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR management) systems for documentation and data management. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to sleep medicine and respiratory therapy practices. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations in a sleep center setting.
