Location Armstrong Campus - Savannah, GA Department Information Biology Job Summary The Student Assistant will support the Department of Biology as a Lab Technician on the Armstrong Campus beginning Fall 2026. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities Assists with the setup and breakdown of laboratory courses Prepares materials for student laboratory exercises, including chemical solutions and bacteriological growth media Maintains the cleanliness and organization of laboratory spaces and the laboratory preparation room by washing glassware, sterilizing materials, and performing general housekeeping duties Shift Specifics Up to 8 hours per week Flexible with schedule of availability Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education Successful completion of at least one University science course with a lab Preferred Experience Experience working in a lab environment Demonstrated experience with the ability to take initiative and problem solve Proposed Salary $12.00 per hour This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
