09/04/2026 SUMMARY Lab Technician I will assist in the production of viral vaccines and related work in our Sioux Center, IA lab facilities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

Has no supervisory responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with performing aseptic procedures including media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest (including adherent cells, suspension cells and primary cells harvested from chicken embryos), filling vaccines, etc. Has the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) in an efficient and accurate manner. Concurrent record keeping related to all pertinent documentation. Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and equipment for use. Successfully and accurately communicate results to supervisor. Able to demonstrate and promote safe lab practices in all areas of work. Acts within the guidelines established by the company policy. Must understand and work with regulatory guidelines established by the USDA. All other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Fast-paced work environment. Team-centric lab. Able to lift up to 50lbs on occasion. Noise level in production lab is typically moderate.
EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED. Aseptic technique and clean room experience preferred but not required.
IMPORTANT QUALITIES
Able to communicate effectively and promote a team environment. Recognize problems and assess solutions. Able to prioritize projects and meet deadlines. Ability to read, write and comprehend information and to effectively convey information to colleagues at various levels. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
