Blood On The Run Labs About Us Blood On The Run Labs is a small, local, fully functional clinical laboratory serving the Treasure Valley. We're not just a draw site — we perform in‑house testing, support local providers, and offer mobile phlebotomy services to make healthcare more accessible for our community. About the Role We are hiring a part‑time Lab Assistant / Specimen Processor to support daily laboratory operations. This role is essential to keeping our workflow running smoothly — from receiving and preparing specimens to supporting phlebotomy and testing staff. This position has strong potential to transition into a long‑term full‑time role as our volume continues to grow. What You'll Do Receive, verify, and accession specimens into the LIS Confirm patient identity, test orders, and specimen requirements Label, aliquot, and prepare specimens for in‑house testing or send‑out Package and prepare specimens for courier pickup following all transport regulations Maintain specimen integrity through proper storage (ambient, refrigerated, frozen) Communicate discrepancies, missing information, or specimen issues to appropriate staff Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean work area Support the phlebotomy team as needed (no venipuncture required unless trained) Follow all CLIA, OSHA, and internal safety protocols Participate in training, competency assessments, and quality assurance activities What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Detail‑oriented, organized, and dependable Comfortable working in a clinical environment with biological specimens A good communicator and a good teammate Interested in growing with a small, community‑focused lab Able to follow written procedures and maintain accuracy in a fast‑paced setting Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Some laboratory or medical office experience preferred, but not required Familiarity with specimen types, test codes, or basic lab workflows is a plus Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Ability to work independently and follow established procedures Comfortable using PPE and handling biological specimens Basic computer skills; LIS experience preferred but not required Schedule Part‑time May include early mornings or occasional short‑notice coverage Hours vary based on specimen volume and courier schedules Additional hours may be offered based on workload and performance Compensation $18-$24 per hour DOE Benefits None offered at this time.
