August 17, 2026 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a contract assignment. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing, treating, and preventing disease. This role requires accuracy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and complex laboratory testing on blood, urine, and other body fluid specimens. Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Collect, process, label, and prepare specimens for testing according to laboratory protocols. Analyze and verify test results while ensuring accuracy and quality control standards. Document and report laboratory findings promptly and accurately. Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines. Maintain laboratory records, quality assurance documentation, and inventory of supplies. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding test results and specimen issues. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and laboratory compliance activities. Qualifications Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field. Active Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification (ASCP or equivalent preferred). Current state licensure, if required. Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood bank procedures. Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
