QC Chemist

Analytical Chemist Location:
La Grange, IL Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 2nd shift 3:00 PM-12:00
AM Pay:
$25-$28/hour, depending on experience
Terms:
Initial 6-month contract with possibility of extension/conversion Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to join our laboratory team within the cosmetics and personal care industry . This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or grow their career in analytical laboratory testing. The Analytical Chemist will be responsible for routine testing and analysis of raw materials used in the development and manufacturing of cosmetic and personal care products. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a scientific mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required. We are open to candidates ranging from recent graduates with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science to experienced Laboratory Technicians or Chemists. Key Responsibilities Perform routine analytical testing of raw materials used in cosmetics and personal care products. Follow established laboratory procedures, methods, and testing protocols. Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and solutions for analysis. Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment as required. Analyze and interpret laboratory data and document results accurately. Perform daily quality control testing and ensure analytical results meet established specifications. Assist with troubleshooting testing procedures and laboratory equipment. Maintain accurate laboratory records, test results, and documentation. Follow all laboratory, quality, health, and safety procedures. Assist with investigations and special laboratory projects as needed. Communicate testing results and findings with laboratory and cross-functional teams. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Stay current with laboratory procedures, analytical techniques, and industry practices. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific field required. Previous laboratory experience is preferred, but entry-level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Experience with analytical laboratory testing, raw materials, or quality control is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to follow detailed procedures and work independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze data and identify potential issues or inconsistencies. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. Knowledge of laboratory equipment and analytical techniques is a plus. Ideal Candidate We are open to candidates at a variety of experience levels, including: Recent Bachelor's degree graduates in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field Entry-level Laboratory Technicians Experienced Lab Technicians Analytical Chemists with experience in cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, food, or other related industries
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
