DIRECT HIRE POLYSOMNOGRAPHER

Tech Salary Range:

$51,400 - $77,200 JOB

REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Skills 1 year of Polysomnography experience preferred. 6 months of experience working with pediatric patients preferred. Experience evaluating patients for sleep-related breathing disorders and other sleep abnormalities preferred. Education & Certification Candidates must meet one of the following education requirements: Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program; OR Completion of the A-STEP program through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine; OR Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs). License & Certification Must hold one of the following credentials: RPSGT credential from the BRPT; OR SDS credential from the NBRC; OR RST credential from the American Board of Sleep Medicine. Candidates without an RPSGT, RST, or SDS credential must: Be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the NBRC. Be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the IPLA. Pass the RPSGT, RST, or SDS examination within 1 year of becoming eligible to sit for the exam. Current Basic CPR certification required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Overview The Polysomnographer performs and scores polysomnography studies, evaluates patients for sleep-related disorders, and maintains sleep study equipment. This position also completes required documentation and clerical responsibilities to support the clinical and operational functions of the Sleep Disorders Center. Responsibilities Perform polysomnography and sleep studies. Score and interpret sleep study records according to established protocols. Evaluate patients for sleep-related breathing disorders and other sleep abnormalities, including seizure disorders and narcolepsy. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of sleep testing equipment. Complete required clinical documentation and clerical work. Support the overall clinical and operational needs of the Sleep Disorders Center. Provide care and support to pediatric patients and other patient populations served.

Schedule (Shifts, Hours, Days, etc.) Nights 3 × 12-hour shifts Exams Performed Polysomnography / Sleep Studies Additional Info Pediatric experience is preferred. Polysomnography experience is preferred. Candidates without RPSGT, RST, or SDS credentials may qualify with RRT certification and the required Indiana Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure, provided the applicable sleep credential is obtained within the required timeframe.
