This position is responsible for following laboratory procedures, maintaining accurate records, keeping work areas clean and organized, and assisting with quality control and general laboratory tasks. Responsibilities Receive and accurately log specimens for testing according to laboratory SOPs. Prepare and load samples onto laboratory instruments as required. Follow all laboratory policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Prepare workspaces, equipment, and materials for daily laboratory operations. Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Clean and disinfect designated laboratory areas at the end of each workday. Properly wear required PPE, including gloves, goggles, and lab coats when working with specimens. Wash and maintain laboratory glassware and other reusable equipment. Document equipment maintenance, laboratory lot numbers, inventory, and other required records. Prepare solvents for LC/MS instruments. Prepare and properly package biohazard materials for shipping as needed. Prepare QA/QC solutions and submit them for validation as required. Assist other laboratory departments and with additional laboratory duties as needed. Complete required continuing education, including a minimum of 12 hours annually. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous laboratory, specimen processing, accessioning, or healthcare experience preferred. Ability to follow written procedures and accurately document information. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work safely with biological specimens and laboratory equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
