Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory equipment, makes observations, and calculates and records results; receives, types, tests, and records blood bank inventories.

Job Description
Overview Performs STAT and routine laboratory testing, which includes all necessary clerical and technical functions by following general and specific technical policies and procedures. Assists the supervisor in various management functions and works as a Charge Tech when needed. Responsibilities

(Minimum Requirements)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to maintain competency to perform moderate and high complexity testing accurately and in a timely fashion. Ability to trouble shoot and resolve instrument related problems.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, & ASSESSMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences from an accredited institution.- (•Employees who have been working as lab techs prior to the effective CLIA date (1988) and have passed the HEW certification can be considered eligible to meet the educational and certification requirement.
- : MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), or equivalent Professional assessment of training and experience to be conducted by the Medical Director
