Overview We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Your expertise in laboratory techniques and procedures will ensure accurate and timely results, supporting clinicians and enhancing patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a thorough understanding of clinical laboratory work, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities Conduct laboratory tests using established procedures and techniques to analyze biological specimens. Collect, process, and prepare specimens for testing, including blood sampling and specimen handling. Perform venipuncture and phlebotomy procedures with precision, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Maintain accurate records of test results, specimen details, and laboratory activities. Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure laboratory integrity. Monitor vital signs when necessary during patient interactions and assist with patient care activities. Support laboratory quality control measures, calibration, and maintenance of equipment. Assist in inventory management by ordering supplies and ensuring proper storage. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results within the context of patient physiology. Follow hospital policies regarding heavy lifting, specimen transportation, and other physical requirements. Requirements Proven experience in medical laboratory work or clinical laboratory settings. Proficiency in laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen processing. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and laboratory safety standards. Certification or training in phlebotomy, venipuncture, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with hospital environments and patient service protocols. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for specimen handling or equipment setup. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff and patients.
