A Laboratory Specimen Processor catalogs specimens in a medical laboratory for use by other health care workers, including laboratory technicians, nurses, and physicians. Specimens can include blood samples, bacteria cultures, and even organs. Receives specimens, enters specimen data into a computer system, prepares samples for further laboratory analysis, and transports specimens to other labs and clinical departments.

Job Description
Overland Park, KS Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pmJob Responsibilities:
Act a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients. Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications Communicates with customers in respectful and professional manner. Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions. Provide customer education and information as needed. Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies. Prepare and triage specimens for analysis. Accurately identify and label specimens. Pack and ship specimens as necessary. Prepare and store excess specimen samples.Minimum Qualification:
High School Diploma or GED equivalentPreferred Qualification:
Current or prior Labcorp experience Associates degree 6 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience 6 months or more in customer service Additional Job Standard s Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures Comfortable handling biological specimens Ability to accurately identify specimens Experience working in a team environment Strong data entry and organizational skills High level of attention to detail Proficient in MS Office Ability to lift up to 40lbs. Able to pass a standardized color blindness testBenefits:
