JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory analyses of dairy products. Hold, release, or reject finished goods based on analytical results. Verify product compliance with specifications and promptly report any deviations to management. Perform in-plant checks including weights, temperatures, ingredient usage, product appearance, code dates, pH levels, and metal detection. Calibrate and perform scheduled preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment. Conduct daily evaluations of finished products. Perform environmental testing to ensure sanitary conditions. Maintain accurate documentation of all laboratory tests and procedures. Ensure a clean, sanitary, and safe laboratory environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED equivalent, required. Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field, preferred. Previous experience in a laboratory environment required. Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferred. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and accurately recording data. Proficient in following standard operating procedures and safety protocols with strong attention to detail. Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts as required. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend. Must be able to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and occasionally 75 pounds. Must be able to work for extended periods in a cold, damp environment.
