Seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine laboratory tests under close supervision to determine the chemical or physical characteristics of samples. This is a short term contract role for 3-months that works a 12-hour rotating DuPont shift schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform basic analytical tests based on standards and procedures assigned by the Laboratory Manager Assist with and perform the setup, adjustment, and operation of laboratory equipment Calibrate laboratory instruments as needed to ensure analyses are accurate in accordance with the Quality Management System Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas Record test results on standardized forms and write test reports describing the procedures used Understand and complete laboratory raw data sheets and make accurate entries into the LIMS database Read and comprehend all analytical methods and safety standards in English, including ASTM, UOP, IP, and other well-defined analytical standards and procedures used in the laboratory Follow the procedural, safety, and quality requirements specified in the Laboratory Manual, Safety Manual, and company policies Perform all other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science preferred, or equivalent work experience, coupled with a minimum of one (1) year of directly transferable laboratory experience Knowledge of ASTM standards Able to work with all chemical, petrochemical, and petroleum products Able to accurately differentiate between colors by sight Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) experience preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; Microsoft Access preferred Strong work history with a track record of responsibility and reliability Detail-oriented Excellent communication skills Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment

Pay:

$20.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 - 72.0 per week
