Metal service centers provide customers with readily available aluminum, stainless steel, and other metals inventory and processing. Bayou Metal Supply & Manufacturing focuses on meeting customer needs of available metals in the marine and related industries. We provide inventory management services, and value-added metals processing, such as: precision router cutting with our three onsite CNC routers, cutting to length, plasma cutting, precision sawing and shearing, and more, before distributing these products to manufacturers and other end-users. Bayou Metal Supply & Manufacturing is looking for a hardworking, dependable, and motivated individual to fill our quality lab technician position. Starting pay for this position is dependent upon experience. Duties and responsibilities for this position position include: Calibrate all gauges Operation of laboratory Inspection of machined parts Inspection of dimensions during manufacturing Loading boxes for shipment Understanding codes and references Inspection of material Documentation of all inspection processes Requirements for this position: 2 years in Fabrication QA or 5 years of Fabrication experience. Level 2 PT/VT/UT preferred but not required. Highschool, GED, or equivalent required. 40 hours a week with flexibility. Ability to operate forklift proficiently - experience and/or current license preferred. Ability to pick up 50 lbs. Ability to follow quality standards and wear PPE at all times. Ability to follow directions. Ability to use care when handling parts. Ability to keep track of paperwork. Ability to stand for long hours. Ability to maintain awareness and attention to detail in a fast-paced working environment. Skilled in reading drawings. Skilled in using measuring instruments. Must be able to take care of expensive equipment. Must be self-motivated. Good moral character. Dependable, flexible, and punctual.
