Job Description

Lab Assistant Responsibilities Perform routine analytical testing on samples in the analytical services laboratory according to established protocols and work instructions. Provide accurate analytical data to support process control, quality control, process development, product development, and waste management activities. Prepare solutions, clean glassware, and properly dispose of solid and liquid waste to support overall laboratory operations. Conduct basic operational preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment following work instructions. Promptly and accurately record, calculate, and report analytical results in laboratory systems and documentation. Essential Skills Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience performing hands-on testing and sample handling. Good oral and written communication skills for clear interaction with team members and internal customers. High attention to detail with the ability to analyze outcomes against established standards. Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to optimize laboratory efficiency and productivity. Experience with laboratory testing and sample preparation in a chemistry or biology environment. Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain reliable laboratory records. Additional Skills & Qualifications Understanding of basic High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) operation. Understanding of basic Gas Chromatography (GC) operation and gas chromatography principles. Experience with wet chemistry techniques and analytical chemistry procedures. Experience in chemistry, biology, or related scientific discipline. Experience with FTIR and other analytical instrumentation is beneficial. Familiarity with quality control and quality assurance processes in a production or manufacturing environment. Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Chromatography Data Systems (CDS). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
