Shift:
Tue - Sat 12:00 AM - 08:30 AM.
Pay rate:
$25.30/hr. on W2 Position Summary Perform daily routine laboratory functions with precision and accuracy to support laboratory professional staff and ensure efficient workflow and production. This role involves handling specimens, supporting testing processes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Specimen Handling & Processing Sort and receive specimens in the laboratory department Prepare specimens for testing, including: Building worklists Aliquoting samples into specimen cups Checking for clots and fibrin Slide preparation and inoculation Centrifuge specimens as required Store and retrieve specimens Resolve pending specimen lists Locate missing samples Laboratory Support Functions Prepare reagents and/or media Print extra specimen labels Record data such as temperature charts Perform routine instrument maintenance on select equipment Operate laboratory computer systems and PCs Quality, Safety & Compliance Perform QA/QC duties as assigned Follow all PPE requirements and safety regulations Dispose of biohazardous materials properly Perform weekly radioactive wipe tests Decontaminate work areas Documentation & Maintenance Maintain departmental records and files Change gas cylinders when required Complete training and competency checklists Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Medical assistant training is helpful Coursework in math and science preferred Experience No prior work experience required Skills & Special Requirements Ability to set work priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently Ability to retain and apply learned information Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and interact respectfully with internal and external customers Must demonstrate courtesy, professionalism, and reliability Keywords Laboratory, Medical, Specimen Processing, Quality Control, Laboratory Support
