FTL Labs, Inc. is an established environmental testing laboratory serving Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia since 1985. We specialize in drinking water and wastewater testing for residential, commercial, and municipal clients. We are a growing laboratory with a supportive, team-oriented environment. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Sample Receiving Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for receiving, logging, organizing, and distributing environmental samples while ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures and holding times. Responsibilities Receive and inspect samples from clients and couriers Measure and document sample temperature and pH Identify and report discrepancies to Project Managers Log samples accurately into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Distribute samples to laboratory departments Communicate rush and short hold-time samples to analysts Prepare and assemble customer bottle orders Maintain bottle inventory and add required preservatives Package and ship samples to subcontract laboratories Perform sample archiving and disposal Maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Some college coursework in chemistry or laboratory experience preferred Strong attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Clear communication skills Basic computer proficiency Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Preferred Skills Laboratory, environmental, or chemistry background Experience working with data entry or LIMS systems Experience handling regulated or time-sensitive materials
