AM Pay Range:
$1650-$1700/week
Guaranteed Hours:
36 hours/week Company Description Join a critical access hospital serving the local community in Maine. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician who enjoys a diverse laboratory environment, independent work, and providing essential diagnostic support in a close-knit healthcare setting. Job Duties Perform laboratory testing and specimen processing accurately while following established procedures and quality standards. Perform blood bank testing, microbiology procedures, phlebotomy, and other laboratory functions as required. Perform microbiology activities including Gram stains, culture planting, and blood cultures. Prioritize and multitask effectively while working independently and ensuring timely test results. Follow appropriate COVID-19, PPE, isolation, safety, and infection-control practices while maintaining clear communication with the healthcare team. Qualifications Must be a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) who graduated from an approved program. Proficiency in phlebotomy and blood bank testing required. Microbiology experience preferred ; experience with Gram stains, culture planting, and blood cultures is strongly preferred/required as applicable. Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize workload, and communicate effectively. Must be available for rotating weekends and holidays as needed. Schedule & Additional Details 3x12-hour night shifts after the first week of training. Rotating weekends, typically every 5th weekend. No regular call requirement. Thursday night coverage is required, with opportunities to pick up additional vacancies when available. Holiday coverage is required on a rotating basis as needed. Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 12-week assignment.
