, in 2015. Many called the pre-regulation days of caregivers, provisioning centers and medical cannabis users, the "Wild West of Michigan Cannabis." We realized the industry had an unfulfilled need to incorporate scientific testing to ensure consumer safety. Steadfast stepped in to fill the void and developed sophisticated and trustworthy testing technologies and methodologies to provide the end user with the best experiences and safest products. Today, the regulated industry in many respects is still a "Wild West," but one in which Steadfast is here to assure your cannabis is safe. We are looking for a qualified Lab Technician (21 or older to comply with CRA guidelines) to undertake a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature. You will be handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples, conduct assays, and report findings to a laboratory manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (chemicals). He/She/They will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate about contributing to a team that works to keep our communities safe. Our goal is to produce accurate data that can be used to ensure only safe-for-consumption products reach the consumers. Pay is commensurate on experience. Responsibilities Measure and prepare samples using standard operating procedures for various analytical and microbiological assays Receive samples according to state and laboratory protocol Log samples into LIMS with accuracy Operate and assist with the use of METRC Ensure that all safety protocols are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly work environment Assist with inventory management Dispose of analyzed samples and chemical waste using proper chemical hygiene and in adherence to all waste protocols Skills Previous experience as Lab Technician or other relevant position, helpful but not required Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards etc.), helpful but not required Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems Ability to work autonomously, in small teams, and under pressure Proficiency in communication, time management and interpersonal skills Maintaining a good attitude with a strong attention to detail Ability to work afternoon/evening shifts and weekends full or part time Degree in biology, chemistry, or relevant field a plus
