Responsibilities:
Position Description
  • This is a laboratory-based position focused on mixing of laboratory size adhesive formulations and executing testing plans for the development of new and replacement products.
  • Responsibilities include preparing tests according to customer specifications and internal test methods, completing timely testing to record and obtain data for assigned projects, and producing reliable, replicable data.
  • Read and utilize dial calipers, micrometers, and standard shop measuring tools.
  • Set up, calibrate, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot testing equipment.
  • Apply basic laboratory techniques to perform routine and non-routine tests with limited supervision.
  • Mixing of laboratory size adhesive formulations using different mixing equipment with limited supervision.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Enter accurate data into lab management system, computer databases, and test reports.
  • Understand and perform mathematical and statistical functions.
  • Prepare data reports, graphs, and charts as requested.
  • Demonstrate creativity with new ideas, suggest efficiency improvements, and make recommendations to enhance procedures.
  • Follow proper material storage, handling, and disposal procedures for hazardous waste materials.
  • Follow SHE and 5S guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, with at least two years of college chemistry or related science courses.
  • Previous laboratory experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in routine mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Experience with basic tool manipulation, including mixing equipment, lab glassware, testing machines, and standard lab tools.
  • Skilled in manipulating and graphing data and reporting experimental work.
  • Experience working in a team environment and managing multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
