Job Duties:

Provide support to research scientists in the completion of research projects and activities. Conduct pilot fermentation trials and routine laboratory experiments. Perform microbiological plating, sampling, and related laboratory activities using appropriate sterile techniques. Organize, document, analyze, and communicate experimental results. Perform routine analysis as needed to support research activities. Execute designed experiments and troubleshoot or make corrections during experimentation. Maintain pilot plant and laboratory equipment to ensure proper operation. Follow corporate EHS, laboratory safety, and Food Safety requirements. Support core technology areas such as fermentation, separations, product safety, milling and grinding, as applicable. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties and support research activities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related Science field. Experience or academic exposure to laboratory experimentation and microbiology. Ability to execute designed experiments and troubleshoot during experimentation. Strong communication, teamwork, collaboration, and organizational skills. Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow EHS and Food Safety requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work onsite in a food-grade laboratory/pilot plant environment and physically handle up to 50 lbs. Experience conducting fermentation trials and knowledge of fermentation biology. 6 months to 3 years of experience in a food-grade pilot plant environment. Hands-on experience with microbiology sampling, sterile technique, fermentation principles, and fermentation operations. Experience with downstream purification technologies such as chromatography, centrifugation, filtration, membrane separation, crystallization, or evaporation. Must have purification technologies such as chromatography, centrifugation, filtration, membrane separation, crystallization, or evaporation.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm Flexibility to work some evenings/overnights. HC01

Pay:

$27.00 per hour Application Question(s): Candidate must have an Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related Science field.
