Research Specialist I University of Missouri-Columbia parental leave, paid time off United States, Missouri, Columbia 801 Conley Avenue (Show on map) May 12, 2026 Hiring Department Dalton Cardiovascular Res Ctr Job Description
  • Organize and assist in implementation of research projects including cell or biological assay development and execution, project management and data collection (e.g., qRT-PCR, immunoblots, immunohistochemistry).
  • Manage transgenic mouse colonies including weaning, PCR genotyping and culling mice.
  • Feed and manage cell cultures including airway/intestinal organoids and cell lines.
  • Perform routine laboratory support including washing and autoclaving glassware, maintenance of lab equipment, preparing culture media, proper disposal of laboratory waste and maintaining a clean laboratory environment.
  • Order stock and inventory supplies, as needed, in consultation with Laboratory Manager.
  • Assist in inventory and file management.
  • Assist in managing undergraduate students working in the laboratory Shift 34 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm and flexible.
Occasional weekend work (1-2 hours on Saturdays or Sundays) may be required. Any weekend hours worked may be offset by a corresponding reduction in hours during the regular Monday-Friday schedule. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or biochemistry with experience in laboratory research.
  • Be willing to learn new research techniques and skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Be able to work as a team member with multiple investigators in the laboratory.
Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range:
$17.05 - $29.69 per hour
