CLT MLT MLT

Responsibilities If you have experience as a Medical Lab Technician ( MLT ) , Clinical Laboratory Technician ( CLT ) , or Laboratory Technician (LT) you are encouraged to apply for this position.

+ C ollect, process, and prepare specimens such as blood, urine, and other bodily fluids for analysis

+ P erform routine and specialized tests to analyze specimens and provide data on patient health, which may include tests in hematology, chemistry, and other areas

+ I nterpret lab test results and ensure accuracy, you may also enter data into laboratory information systems and prepare reports for healthcare providers

+ F ollow quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, this may involve calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and performing routine maintenance tasks

+ A dhere to hospital policies, safety regulations, and accreditation standards, which could include maintaining a clean and organized work environment and using personal protective equipment ( PPE ) as required

+ O ccasionally interact with patients, particularly when collecting specimens, and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and cooperation Qualifications

+ Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required

+ ASCP certification, or equivalent, required

+ Associates Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or completion of coursework in a program for MLT + 3 years of hospital laboratory work experience preferred
