Educational tuition assistance & company-paid life insurance Job Summary Northeast Regional Medical Center is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for our Evening Shift. In this role, you will perform moderate and high-complexity diagnostic testing on blood, body fluids, and specimens to deliver timely, accurate results for patient care. You will operate and troubleshoot advanced laboratory equipment, execute strict quality control (QC), and collaborate with a dedicated clinical healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities Laboratory Testing:
Perform moderate and high-complexity diagnostic testing efficiently; report and document clinical results accurately.
Quality Assurance:
Execute QC protocols, analyze data, troubleshoot out-of-range test results, and maintain strict infection control/PPE safety standards.
Instrumentation:
Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot automated laboratory equipment; utilize Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) daily.
Specimen Management:
Collect, process, and track chain-of-custody urine drug screens; assist with phlebotomy as needed.
Compliance & Operations:
Maintain accurate laboratory records, adhere to regulatory standards, maintain reliable attendance, and perform other assigned duties. Qualifications (Strictly Required) Education /
Training:
Associate Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology required OR Technical School completion of an official military Medical Laboratory Procedures course (50 weeks minimum) and holding the military occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist required
Experience:
0-2 years of acute care laboratory experience required
Certifications:
MLT - Medical Lab Technician through ASCP, AMT, AAB, HEW, or equivalent certification agency required
Licensure:
State license where applicable required Core Competencies & Skills Deep knowledge of clinical laboratory principles, testing procedures, and QC guidelines. Hands-on proficiency in lab equipment operation, maintenance, and system troubleshooting. Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate test data and resolve complex technical issues. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and team communication.
