The Role We're hiring two Lab Technicians to join our formulation and production team at the Canton, NC facility. You'll work under the Lab Manager to run reactors, formulate vape and edible inputs, maintain equipment, track production in our MRP system (Katana), and ensure every batch meets spec. This is hands-on manufacturing work in a lab environment — you're making product, documenting everything, and keeping the operation running. What You'll Do Operate 5L and 50L reactors safely and to spec for vape and edible input formulation Formulate bulk oil inputs, blends, and finished formulations following SOPs and batch records Run batch documentation accurately — every batch tracked, every deviation reported Maintain preventive maintenance and cleaning logs for all formulation equipment Conduct in-process quality checks including stability and compatibility testing Record production and inventory data in Katana MRP daily — accurate, timely, no shortcuts Reconcile manufacturing inventory bi-monthly and track waste logs weekly Communicate raw material needs to the purchasing team based on formulation demand Verify compliance and accuracy of formulation inputs before sending to co-packers or in-house production Maintain a clean, organized lab environment in compliance with cGMP standards Follow and continuously improve SOPs for all formulation activities, equipment, and lab procedures Collaborate with the Lab Manager, QC Supervisor, and production team to hit scheduled output dates Identify opportunities to improve process flow, increase efficiency, and reduce cost What We're Looking For Experience working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment (required) Ability to follow SOPs precisely and document work accurately — attention to detail is non-negotiable Self-starter who stays productive without someone standing over them Comfort with hands-on chemical handling, reactors, heating/cooling equipment, and lab instruments Willingness to learn hemp-specific formulation processes, compliance requirements, and our MRP system A STEM degree is preferred but relevant experience and a willingness to learn are equally valued Must be 21+ years old Must be able to reliably commute to Canton, NC 28716 daily Compensation & Benefits $24.00/hour, non-exempt (overtime eligible) Monthly output and QC performance bonuses Health insurance — company covers 70% of employee premium 401(k) through Human Interest PTO and sick time accrual from Day 1 (available after 90 days) Employee discount on company products Growth path — we promote from within when people prove themselves Work Environment On-site at our Canton, NC production facility Frequently required to stand, walk, and move throughout lab and production areas Occasionally required to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs Regular use of reactors, formulation equipment, scales, heating/cooling systems, and lab instruments
