This position will be designing and conducting independent research, mentoring and directing graduate student research, presenting findings at laboratory and scientific meetings, and preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. The role also involves contributing to extramural grant applications and managing research activities across virology, immunology, biochemistry, animal husbandry, and molecular biology.

Key responsibilities include:

Plans experiments by organizing schedules, materials, and coordination based on the supervisor's research directives and goals Oversees and directs the work of 1-2 trainees or collaborators, guiding their research activities and training under the supervisor's direction Manages inventory by ordering supplies, tracking materials, maintaining records, and ensuring all lab members follow proper procedures Reviews research work, provides feedback, monitors compliance with safety and organizational standards, and helps resolve issues with the supervisor Leads training, supports research planning, directs personnel, contributes to hiring decisions, and advises the supervisor on performance and conduct Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
