A Laboratory Technician performs routine tests on samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes. Works under the supervision of a medical laboratory technologist in a laboratory or healthcare facility.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, or equivalent education preferred. Five plus years of QC experience is preferred. Must be able to pass the Color Hue Test. Frequent, standing, stooping, and walking May be required to lift to 50 1lbs occasionally. Must be able to work overtime, which includes weekends as required Ability to prioritize and assign work. Ability to perform comprehensive quality control test procedures. Ability to utilize specialized quality control laboratory equipment. Possess understanding of basic product and general manufacturing processes. Ability to document technical test results. Calculating and reviewing technical chemistry formulas. Ability to determine formula or material adjustments within parameters. Ability to read and interpret test results within guidelines.
PC Skills:
Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications. SAP experience preferred but not required. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. This is not a remote position, must be present onsite to fulfil and perform the job requirements.
Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of complex and specialized quality control tests and assists with coordinating the operations of the lab. Runs comprehensive and specialized lab tests that require judgment and interpretation of results within general guidelines. Performs complex calculations and additional analyses on test results to determine if product is within proper specifications; provides direction to other lab technicians as required. Assists with developing standard operational procedures and testing guidelines and interacting with daily operations to ensure a safe and effective lab environment. Recommends technical formula or material adjustments to the product based on test results, history, and judgment; receives direction on issues when required and coordinates potential formula changes with corporate. Operates, cleans, maintains, and calibrates qc lab equipment and maintains a clean and safe working environment. Coordinates activities with production, maintenance, technology, or other plant personnel to ensure the effective flow of production. Communication between the qc lab, R&D and production to maintain and update formulas when necessary. Responds to customers and commercial team questions and complaints regarding product quality, test results, and other product related information. Reviews, completes, and maintains a variety of forms, logs, and reports detailing test results to ensure compliance with operational procedure.
Pay:
$25.50 - $26.75 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
