- PSLF Eligible Employer Responsibilities POC Testing Tech (MLT/MT) Job Summary Works with Point of Care Testing (POCT) manager, POCT Technical Specialist, and hospital staff performing POCT to ensure policies and procedures for POCT are followed.
Conducts training and competency assessment for waived tests to ensure hospital staff are familiar with the pre-analytical and analytical procedures, maintenance and troubleshooting of the POCT equipment. Assists with distribution of quality control materials, assists with correlation testing, and performs quality audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Familiar with CLIA, Joint Commission and CAP laboratory standards. Assists with data collection for monitoring quality, and assists with special projects as needed and as directed by the POCT manager. Qualifications POC Testing Tech (MLT/MT) Qualifications Associates of Science in Medical laboratory technology or related science from an accredited institution. ASCP or AMT MLT certification preferred. 1 year laboratory experience preferred. Experience in POCT or other healthcare related setting i.e physician office lab setting will be considered. Must have knowledge of laboratory CLIA, CAP and hospital regulatory requirements.
