Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Lab Technician to join our laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine laboratory testing, preparing and handling samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, recording accurate results, and following established safety and quality-control procedures. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and laboratory safety. Key Responsibilities Collect, receive, label, prepare, and process laboratory samples according to established procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses accurately and efficiently. Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Prepare reagents, solutions, and other materials needed for testing. Record, review, and maintain accurate laboratory data and test results. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality-control requirements, and laboratory safety guidelines. Identify and report unusual, inconsistent, or out-of-range test results to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment. Properly handle, store, and dispose of samples, chemicals, and laboratory materials. Assist with inventory management and maintain adequate supplies and reagents. Participate in quality assurance and quality-control activities. Maintain laboratory records and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. Perform other laboratory duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science Previous laboratory experience is preferred but may not be required for entry-level candidates. Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety practices. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures accurately. Good organizational, documentation, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and effectively within a team. Basic computer and data-entry skills. Ability to handle laboratory samples and materials in accordance with applicable safety procedures. Preferred Skills Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) or other laboratory software. Experience with quality-control procedures and documentation. Familiarity with laboratory instruments and routine maintenance. Knowledge of applicable laboratory safety and regulatory requirements.
