Job Description

Labgenomics, a specialized anatomic and clinical pathology laboratory is seeking a Technician to join an expanding laboratory in the Accessioning-GPP department. Labgenomics is a diverse and established laboratory located in central NJ.
Work Schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday 9:00pm - 5:30am The main responsibilities of this role include: Receiving and accurately logging specimens into the laboratory information system Ensuring proper labeling and handling of samples Following strict protocols and maintaining specimen integrity Coordinating with lab technicians and other departments as needed
  • Receives and prepares laboratory specimens (fecal) for designated departments and locations prior to laboratory analysis and testing.
  • Performs all paperwork and non-technical procedures required to process and submit specimens.
  • Receiving, organizing and labeling samples and maintaining all equipment used.
  • Completes data entry for each type of specimen received and is able to input correct information in the system with typing speed of no less than 45 WPM.
  • Perform all paperwork and non-technical procedures required to process patient demographics and specimen information.
  • Logging and filing samples for each patient, managing data on a computer and answering calls/emails with regard to the status of a specimen.
  • Participates in routine training activities to maintain/enhance skill level.
  • Dependability, flexibility and adaptability in all aspects of laboratory responsibilities and scheduling hours.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks.
  • Conscientious, detail oriented and accurate regarding data entry and transcription.
  • Ability to make quick decisions, establish priorities and concentrate on detailed information.
  • Able to be independent on day-to-day activities, coordinating the prioritization and execution of departmental responsibilities.
A high school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic computer proficiency Previous lab or specimen handling experience (preferred but not required)

$22.00 - $23.00 per hour
