Scope:
Perform tasks related to molecular genetics testing of clinical samples for the tests offered by the CooperGenomics laboratory as well as standard assignments of a clinical laboratory setting. This role is a part of the Genomics laboratory operations and involves interaction with other members of the laboratory as well as customer service and genetic counseling within the organization.
Job Summary:
Performs pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical components of complex molecular based procedures on clinical samples. Additionally, performs tasks associated with clinical cases and operating a clinical laboratory. This clinical laboratory is open 365 days a year.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to understand and apply safety standards and good laboratory practices
  • Working knowledge using Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • High level of attention detail
Work Environment:
  • Frequent reaching grasping, repetitive motions and eye/hand coordination.
  • Ability to work in environmental conditions typical in office and/or clinical laboratory environments
  • Variable shift times/rotating days may be required.
  • Occasionally lift 13 kilograms
  • Clean room class II operations
Experience:
  • At least one year as Lab Technologist II.
Education:
  • At least bachelor's degree in the
