Dope Diagnostics is building a New York State-licensed cannabis testing laboratory focused on rigorous analytical science, regulatory compliance, and defensible laboratory results. We are seeking a Laboratory Technician with a degree in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline to support analytical testing and laboratory operations. This is an opportunity for an early-career scientist to gain hands-on experience in a highly regulated laboratory environment using advanced analytical instrumentation and quality systems. Responsibilities Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and quality-control materials for analytical testing. Support testing using laboratory instrumentation such as: High-performance liquid chromatography, or HPLC; Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, or GC-MS; Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, or
LC-MS/MS
; Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, or ICP-MS; and PCR and microbiological testing platforms. Follow approved test methods, standard operating procedures, and instrument-maintenance protocols. Accurately document sample preparation, testing, calibration, quality-control results, and equipment use. Maintain sample integrity and chain-of-custody documentation. Assist with instrument calibration, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and laboratory inventory. Review data for completeness and escalate deviations, unusual results, or quality-control failures. Comply with New York State Office of Cannabis Management requirements and the laboratory's
ISO/IEC 17025
quality-management system. Follow laboratory safety, chemical-handling, waste-disposal, and contamination-control procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, environmental science, forensic science, or a closely related field. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow technical procedures precisely. Ability to maintain complete, accurate, and contemporaneous laboratory records. Ability to work effectively in a regulated, quality-controlled environment. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Academic, internship, or professional laboratory experience. Experience with HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, PCR, or microbiological testing. Familiarity with analytical sample preparation, calibration standards, quality controls, or laboratory information management systems. Exposure to ISO/IEC 17025, Good Laboratory Practices, or another regulated laboratory framework. Direct experience with cannabis testing is not required . Candidates with strong scientific fundamentals and an interest in developing advanced analytical laboratory skills are encouraged to apply.
