What's a typical day as Research Assistant? You'll be: Maintaining primary cells and established cell lines, and isolating cells from tissues or organs using aseptic techniques. Performing cell and tissue culture procedures with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality. Preserving cells and tissues using cryopreservation and other storage techniques. Conducting experiments involving gene and protein expression analyses. Collaborating with team members to design, execute, and optimize experimental protocols. Documenting experimental procedures, observations, and results in accordance with laboratory practices. Staying current with developments in tissue engineering, cell biology, and related disciplines. Troubleshooting laboratory methods and implementing procedural improvements. Contributing to the development and evaluation of innovative tissue engineering solutions. Performing work in accordance with laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Supporting routine maintenance and proper operation of laboratory instruments and equipment. Lifting and handling materials or equipment up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodation. Learning and assisting with surgical techniques as required. This job might be an outstanding fit if you: Hold a Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field (required); Master's or higher preferred. Have 2-7 years of hands-on laboratory experience in cell/tissue culture and cell isolation techniques. Possess knowledge of cell and tissue preservation methods, including cryopreservation. Are familiar with gene/protein expression analysis and molecular biology methods. Demonstrate strong laboratory skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity and documentation. Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Are eager to learn new techniques and expand your knowledge in tissue engineering. Can lift up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodation. Previous experience in a CRO, industry, or academic research lab is a plus. Hands-on experience with PCR, Western blotting, or ELISA and knowledge of tissue engineering applications are preferred. Familiarity with laboratory safety requirements, quality systems, and regulated environments is a plus. Prior exposure to surgical techniques or willingness to complete relevant training is beneficial.
