Registered Sleep Technician / Sleep Lab / Per Diem The technologist works under the supervision of the Medical Director, Director of Respiratory Care Services and Sleep Disorders Center supervisor. He/she performs the process of assessment, monitoring, recording and scoring of physiologic data for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorder/neurological conditions
MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Provides age-appropriate care to all children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients/clients/families served. 2. Provide patient education regarding the sleep test. 3. Select appropriate equipment and calibrate for testing. 4. Apply electrodes and sensors according to standards. 5. Perform routine PAP fitting and desensitization. 6. Analyzes sleep testing data accurately and in a timely fashion. 7. Employs critical thinking skills and sound judgment in all aspects of care. 8. Makes modifications in patient care based on evaluation and continuing assessments. 9. Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education:
Graduate of an approved Polysomnography Technologist program. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
Licensure/Certification:
Registered through Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists Registered through the National Board of Respiratory Care preferred Respiratory Care license through Ohio Medical Board preferred BLS If a
Registered Respiratory Therapist, BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP Minimum Experience:
Two years of sleep testing including pediatrics and adults Hospital based testing center preferred
WORK SCHEDULE
Variable hours Dayshift or Nightshift Flexibility to meet department, staffing coverage needs
