As a Shared Laboratory Resource Assistant, you will provide essential support to laboratory operations by supporting the cleaning and processing of animal cages within the Biological Resource Unit. A caregiver in this role works days from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Perform a variety of support activities at a lower scientific complexity level and function as a key support to the operations and research customers, Notify senior personnel or a supervisor of equipment malfunction or other issues that need immediate attention. Perform quality assurance on all assigned activities per procedures or SOPs. Assist with collecting, receiving, processing, transporting, or storing supplies from various labs. Receive/answer and process departmental communications through iLab ordering system, email, phone and/or voicemail or other method. Perform appropriate cleaning procedures for specific areas and maintain adequate stock of supplies as needed. Complete three months of on-the-job training to learn department laboratory procedures, instrumentation and Cleveland Clinic policies. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma/GED After selection and placement into this job, three months on-the-job training to learn department laboratory procedures, instrumentation and CCF policies Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Comfortable being around research animals

Physical Requirements:

Ability to transport equipment and/or animals weighing up to 75 pounds Ability to understand and follow detailed scientific or medical instructions given by investigators and/or veterinarians Ability to work in an environment of unpleasant odors and sights Subject to animal bites and scratches May be required to work with biological, chemical and radiation hazards after proper training.

Pay Range Minimum hourly:

$15.25 Maximum hourly: $19.60 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
