Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Chester, PA. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the sampling, testing, and monitoring of the continuous process of manufacturing precipitated silica. The testing, evaluation, and release of the finished product are also included in these responsibilities.
Rate:
$21/hr +
PTO & Holiday Pay Schedule:
TBD (Monday to Friday, 5:30 am to 2 pm - once trained, they would rotate onto weekends, one Saturday/Sunday, typically 2 weekends a month) Responsibilities Perform all laboratory duties safely and support the plant safety program. Sample and test the continuous production process; make adjustments as needed to maintain product quality. Conduct additional testing during product changeovers to prevent cross‑contamination. Perform finished‑product testing and release results promptly to support shipping schedules. Maintain organized notebooks and electronic data files for accurate data retrieval. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure reliable results. Communicate regularly with Production Operators to support product quality and process needs. Conduct required environmental and utility testing to meet permit and compliance requirements. Assist with training new laboratory technicians. Participate in plant quality‑improvement initiatives. Perform statistical evaluations and apply process‑control methods as applicable. Follow all ISO‑9000 procedures and documentation requirements. Adhere to GMP and Food Safety procedures. Requirements Associate degree in a science‑related field (Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred). Basic computer skills, including MS Excel and MS Access. Ability to accurately update and maintain analytical data files. Strong judgment to interpret test results and take appropriate corrective actions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of chemical production processes to evaluate results and determine necessary adjustments. Experience maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment and managing lab supplies. Understanding of physical and instrumental testing methods used to verify product specifications. Experience with SAP and basic statistical knowledge is a plus. Decisions in this role directly impact product quality, production costs, and supply‑chain reliability.
