Job Description

Laboratory Sample Receiving Technician RJ Lee Group, Inc. is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the sample receiving functions of our Analytical Chemistry and X-ray Diffraction (XRD)- groups. General Overview The Technician will be responsible for sample receiving, logging and handling of samples per internal standard operating procedures based on TNI-NELAC and AIHA protocols using LIMS (laboratory information systems). The technician will interact with the lab supervisors, manager(s), analysts, and other sample coordinators in a fast-paced environment. Direct interaction with the customers might be required to resolve sample receipt inquiries and other related matters. The technician on occasions might need to transport samples between RJLG facilities, located closely. Sample Receiving & Intake Unbox, inspect, and verify incoming samples to ensure all materials match the chain of custody or internal submission forms. Accurately enter sample information into the laboratory information management systems (ChemLIMS/eLIMS). Confirm that each sample is correctly logged and labeled in the appropriate LIMS system. Identify and resolve discrepancies by contacting clients promptly to obtain missing information or clarify issues. Assess sample viability and suitability for testing based on established laboratory criteria.
Additional Responsibilities may include:
Splitting of samples and distributing them to the labs Shipment of samples and media Measuring basic wet chemistry parameters (i.e., pH, temperature, turbidity and so on), upon receipt of samples Invoicing and Invoice Review Qualifications Experience in a laboratory, environmental testing, or sample receiving environment preferred. but not required; an educational background in a related science field (two-year degree+ preferred but not required) will be beneficial for fulfillment of the job responsibilities; appropriate training will be provided for candidates without a science background. Familiarity with LIMS systems, data-entry platforms. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Attention to detail and ability to manage discrepancies effectively. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
