Laboratory Analyst I:
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs duties related to the operation of the water and wastewater laboratory according to South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) regulations. Performs a variety of work involving the chemical and biological analysis of water and wastewater. May be required to serve as part of the hurricane stay-behind/early-return team, report to work, or work modified days/hours or schedules in response to adverse weather or other emergencies. May be required to be on-call for emergency response.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EXPERIENCE
: Requires an Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field. Must have a minimum of one year experience in water and wastewater laboratory operations, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Must possess computer skills, instrumentation skills, and have the ability to read and write and perform basic statistical calculations. Must possess the ability to operate a variety of laboratory equipment and instruments used in plant operations.
Laboratory Analyst II:
SUMMARY:
Under minimal supervision, performs duties related to the operation of the water and wastewater laboratory according to South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) regulations. Performs a variety of work involving the chemical and biological analysis of water and wastewater. Must possess computer skills, instrumentation skills, and have the ability to read and write and perform basic statistical calculations. Must possess the ability to operate a variety of laboratory equipment and instruments used in plant operations.
Chemist:
SUMMARY:
Under minimal supervision, performs duties related to the operation of the water and wastewater laboratory according to South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) regulations. Performs an extensive range of analytical tests for the chemical and biological analysis of water and wastewater including but not limited to gas chromatography, spectrometry, and particle imaging. May be required to serve as part of the hurricane stay-behind/early-return team, report to work, or work modified days/hours or schedules in response to adverse weather or other emergencies. May be required to be on-call for emergency response.
