Position Summary As a R&D Laboratory Technician you will be tasked to complete laboratory requests such as packing samples for shipment to customers, color matching, colorant sample production and testing, and general lab tasks such as cleaning, organizing and inventory maintenance. Key Responsibilities Prepare laboratory samples by locating and adjusting inventory, packing to specification, and labeling appropriately for the customer Prepare formulation trials for new development Perform quality control testing and evaluate product performance Conduct visual and instrumental color matching and make formulation adjustments as needed Analyze test results and use problem-solving skills to identify appropriate product modifications Accurately document formulations, test data, observations, and project updates Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment Collaborate with laboratory staff to achieve project goals and support customer requirements A successful candidate will gain experience using laboratory equipment and processes including: Particle dispersion by media milling and high-speed mixing, Particle size analysis, Color spectroscopy, Physical testing suite including viscometers, non-volatile analyzer, pH measurement, moisture titration, accelerated weather testing Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Laboratory, manufacturing, or quality control experience is a plus, but not required Basic math, reading, writing, and computer skills Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety guidelines Acceptable color vision and ability to distinguish color differences accurately Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, lifting, and working an 8-hour shift Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a team environment
