Job Title:
Lab Technician Job Description The Lab Technician is responsible for performing various testing procedures in a laboratory environment focused on quality control and assurance. This role involves maintaining the laboratory, conducting routine quantitative and qualitative analytical tests on in-process and final product materials, performing calculations and determinations on tests, evaluating physical and chemical characteristics, reviewing final product documentation, and releasing final product material after confirming conformance to specifications. Regular use of both standard and specialized laboratory equipment is required, along with maintaining records of analyses and tests. Responsibilities Analyze samples received from final product tanks, various process steps, and occasional supplemental samples associated with R D projects. Calibrate and maintain analytical equipment such as GC, HPLC, ICP-MS, and FTIR. Ensure accurate data entry from analyses and tests before final product release. Maintain the laboratory at an acceptable level of cleanliness. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related scientific field, with lab classes included. OR Associate's degree in chemistry or a related scientific field, with wet lab classes included and/or 2 years laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in calibrating and troubleshooting analytical equipment. Experience with quality systems in a regulated environment including GMP requirements. Experience with chromatography data collection systems; Chromperfect experience is a plus. Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills. Proficiency in office computer skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize with extreme attention to detail. Ability to adapt to changing procedures with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in calibrating and troubleshooting analytical equipment preferred. Experience with quality systems in a regulated environment including GMP requirements preferred. Experience with chromatography data collection systems preferred. Work Environment This is an on-site laboratory position. The role requires physical demands such as lifting up to 55 pounds without mechanical assistance, climbing several flights of stairs multiple times per shift, standing for up to one hour without sitting, and bending and twisting motions at the waist and knees. The position also requires the ability to work a rotating shift schedule, with flexibility to work alternate schedules as needed. Benefits include billable holidays and paid time off. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loudon, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
