Project Location:

North Texas (approximately one hour north of Abilene, TX) This project is expected to last up to one year , with additional North Texas projects already anticipated , providing qualified candidates with an excellent opportunity for long-term employment and career advancement. Position Summary As a Soils Laboratory Technician , you will perform laboratory testing on soils and construction materials to ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, and project specifications. Your work directly supports earthwork operations by verifying that materials meet engineering requirements before they are incorporated into roads, bridges, utilities, and other critical infrastructure. Working closely with engineers, project managers, and field technicians, you will play an essential role in delivering accurate, reliable laboratory results that contribute to successful project completion. Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing on soil samples in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and project specifications. Conduct Proctor (Moisture-Density Relationship) testing. Perform Atterberg Limits testing. Conduct sieve analysis and particle size distribution testing. Determine moisture content and classify soils. Receive, prepare, label, and process field samples for laboratory analysis. Maintain accurate laboratory reports, testing records, and documentation. Calibrate, inspect, and maintain laboratory equipment, including ovens, balances, sieve shakers, and other testing equipment. Ensure all testing complies with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) standards. Communicate laboratory results with engineers, project managers, and field personnel. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Qualifications Required 3-5 years of experience performing soils laboratory testing or construction materials laboratory testing. Strong working knowledge of ASTM and AASHTO laboratory testing procedures.

Experience performing:

Proctor Testing Atterberg Limits Sieve Analysis Moisture Content Testing Soil Classification Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality results. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Highly Preferred ACI Field Testing Technician - Grade I Certification ATTI Certifications Experience supporting highway, transportation, utility, or heavy civil construction projects Work Schedule This is a fast-paced infrastructure project that requires a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting project schedules.

Candidates should expect to work:

Six (6) days per week Ten (10) hour shifts Approximately 40 to 50 hours per week , providing significant overtime opportunities throughout the project.
