Onsite - Austin, TX A biotechnology company is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Lab Technician to join its team of scientists, engineers, and business operators. Working under the guidance of experienced biologists, the Lab Technician will gain hands-on experience in protein research and development, contributing to ongoing projects and supporting protein research activities across the lab. Responsibilities Run agarose gel electrophoresis for DNA analysis Prepare and maintain buffers, reagents, and other laboratory solutions Prepare and sterilize culture media Grow bacterial cultures for various experiments Perform transformations Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including electrophoresis chambers, centrifuges, sterilizers, and spectrophotometers Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with safety regulations Author and update SOPs as needed Document all experimental procedures, results, and observations meticulously Collaborate with team members to optimize purification processes and troubleshoot issues Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment Assist with ordering and inventory management of laboratory supplies Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, or a related field 2+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting Experience with protein purification techniques and relevant laboratory equipment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures Preferred Experience Ability to pivot between tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment Willingness to support interdisciplinary efforts across teams Recruiter Kendall Bredehorst View Kendall Bredehorst's Jobs Benefits offered See Benefits
